  • Home - school partnership
  • Safeguarding the interests of parents in connection with school
  • Distributing information on how the home-school partnership works
  • Distributing information on how parents can support their children
  • Setting the agenda and supporting parents as regards key issues such as indoor climate, bullying, parent meetings, schoolwork, etc.

FUG is appointed by the King in the Council of State for a period of four years. FUG consists of a chairman, a vice chairman, five members and two deputy members. The members come from different parts of the country and have children at school. Members must have worked actively as a parent representative at school or municipal level.

FUG was established in 1976 and is legally founded on Section 11-9 of the Norwegian Education Act.
The current FUG was appointed on 16th December 2011 for the period 2012-2015.

FUG’s secretariat consists of eight employees and is based in Oslo.

  • Hjem-skole-samarbeid
  • Å ivareta foreldrenes interesser i skolesammenheng
  • Å gi kunnskap om hvordan hjem-skole-samarbeid fungerer
  • Å gi kunnskap om hvordan foreldre kan støtte sine barn
  • Å sette dagsorden og støtte foreldre når det gjelder sentrale tema som inneklima, mobbing, foreldremøter, skolearbeid, med mer.

FUG ble opprettet i 1976 og er lovhjemlet i opplæringsloven § 11-9. 
Det nåværende FUG ble oppnevnt i statsråd 16. desember 2011 for perioden 2012-2015.

FUGs sekretariat består av ti ansatte og holder til i Oslo.

I FUGs arbeid med å nå ut til flest mulig foreldre og andre med informasjon, spiller kommunikasjonsarbeidet er sentral rolle. FUGs vedtatte Kommunikasjonspolitikk 2011-2014 bygger på prinsippene om åpenhet og dialog med målgruppene, i tråd med den statlige kommunikasjonspolitikken.
