School Board

A school board is a board for an individual school and is comparable to the board of a company. The aim of school boards is to ensure that all the parties involved in the school are represented in a decision-making body. A school board can replace a coordinating committee.

Each local authority is responsible for decisions concerning the establishment of a school board at each school and the authorities that the school boards should have.

A school board can issue statements on the following:

  • Budget proposals
  • Activity and development plans for the school
  • Plan for home-school partnership
  • Academic plans
  • School assessment
